Upkar Cooperative group housing society was founded by a group of about 50 persons and was registered with the registrar of co-operative society Delhi on 6th August 1979 with registration number 371G/H. The membership increased to 146 members as per norms laid down by DDA for sanction of building plans. Land measuring 2.433 acres was allotted by DDA in Mayur Vihar Phase -1 Extension, New Delhi. Lease deed was registered on 18th September 1985 and flats were allotted by a draw on 24th April 1994.
Who We Are.
There are total of 146 flats consisting of 98 type A 3 BHK flats in Block A, B & C and 48 type B 2BHK flats in block D. The blocks are 4 storey each with basement in block C. Society has two parks – a big one for social gathering and small one for children play area. There is a temple also in the premises.Single car parking is available for residents of the society. There is a DDA park next to the society and a local shopping cum office complex nearby. There is a metro station and River Side Club within walking distance of the society.

The society is governed by the managing committee to safeguard and work towards the interest of the society and to manage and maintain common facilities to ensure secure and clean living. The committee consist of the President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary and seven other members elected for tenure of 3 years. The present committee was elected in January 2025.
The society is active culturally and celebrates national festival with enthusiasm and active participation of the residents. Festival like Holi, Diwali and New Year are also celebrated with great enthusiasm and passion by the residents of the society.
